Backend Engineer m/f/x (Remote)
As a Backend Engineer at simpleclub, you will significantly contribute to building a product that revolutionizes the learning experience for millions of students. Collaborating with your engineering team, product manager and designer, you will focus on developing and enhancing features related to learning management tools, learning assessments and reporting, ensuring an intuitive and engaging user experience.
How will you make an impact:
- Integrate an agile team, continuously developing simpleclub’s products and platform, like our learning management tools, algorithms and reporting systems. You will be actively developing and maintaining code.
- Engage in our team’s dynamic processes. Collaborate, share insights, and help elevate our engineering practices and backend architecture.
- Your contributions go beyond code. Directly shape the way learners and trainers discover and engage with content.
- Actively participate in the discussions and the setting of the product and technical OKRs for your team and the product solutions to drive impact for our customers
What we value:
- Solid software development experience. You have 3+ years of software development experience in production systems, working in a team`
- Solid background in a range of Backend technologies. You should have good knowledge in Node.js, Google Cloud Platform, Google Cloud functions, REST APIs and Pub/Sub.
- Strong Computer Science and Software Development fundamentals. You hold a relevant Degree or have proven understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design and complexity analysis.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, valuing and fostering teamwork not just within the engineering team; knowledge sharing, sense of ownership embracing agile development practices
- Product development experience. You have participated in product development efforts and initiatives from a technical perspective.
- Knowledge of both noSQL and SQL databases is a plus
- Solid knowledge and appreciation of DevOps

💰Your salary: We 💙 transparency. We have different levels within our salary bands, and we use these levels to determine a fair salary for each range. Your salary is reviewed at least once a year.
The salary band for this role in Germany is: 60.300 - 73.700 EUR annually gross. If you live outside of Germany, we will adapt to your local market.
We have implemented salary bands in all job descriptions to ensure we treat all employees fairly. Once we get to know each other better and understand your skills and experience during the interview process, we will be able to evaluate where you would fit within the salary band.
